TVS Motor Company has officially launched the OBD-2B compliant TVS Jupiter 110, a major step towards meeting the latest emission norms. This update not only improves the eco-friendliness of the scooter, but also ensures that the 110cc scooter remains a top contender in its segment.
OBD-2B Compliance
Meeting the requirements of OBD-2B (On Board Diagnostics) is a major upgrade for the TVS Jupiter 110. This technology enables real-time monitoring of critical engine and emission parameters. Advanced sensors collect data about throttle response, air/fuel ratio, engine temperature, fuel level and engine speed. The Engine Control Unit (ECU) processes this data to ensure optimum performance, lower emissions and improved durability. The move is in line with TVS’ commitment towards compliance and sustainability of rising emission norms.
Prices and variants
The OBD-2B compliant TVS Jupiter 110 is available in four variants, each catering to different customer preferences and budgets. The base Drum variant is priced at Rs 76,691 (ex-showroom, New Delhi), making it a very affordable option. The Drum Alloy variant, which gets alloy wheels for better aesthetics and durability, is priced at Rs 82,441. The Drum SXC model, which comes with additional styling and convenience features, is priced at Rs 85,991. The top-spec Disc SXC model, which is equipped with a front disc brake for better braking performance, is priced at Rs 89,791.Engine and Performance
Engine, Performance and Design
The TVS Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113.3 cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine that produces 5.9 kW at 6,500 rpm and 9.8 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm, ensuring smooth acceleration and low fuel consumption. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission for a better driving experience. Compliance with the OBD-2B standard does not affect the power and torque, which maintains the performance of your scooter.
The TVS Jupiter 110 retains a modern design and many useful features. This includes a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlights with DRLs, call and text notifications, navigation, iGo assist, hazard lights and voice assistant. The scooter is equipped with 12-inch wheels, telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is provided by drum brakes on both wheels, with front disc brakes available in most versions.
Availability and future plans
The OBD-2B compliant TVS Jupiter 110 is now available across dealerships in India. TVS Motor Company plans to convert its entire two-wheeler portfolio to OBD-2B standard by the end of March 2025. This move will ensure that all TVS vehicles comply with the latest emission standards, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
