Recent leaks have provided a first look at the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold, revealing that its design closely resembles that of its predecessor, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The renders, shared by Android Headlines in collaboration with OnLeaks, show a device with nearly identical dimensions and design elements. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to measure approximately 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.3mm when unfolded, which is slightly different from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s dimensions of 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1mm. However, the changes are minimal, and the overall size is expected to remain nearly the same.
The camera module on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold appears to be similar in size to that of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, suggesting that Google may be using the same sensors or ones with comparable dimensions. The device features a triple rear camera setup housed in a horizontal bar, with a 48MP wide-angle lens, a 10.5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to be a 10.8MP sensor, capable of recording 4K 60fps videos.
Under the hood, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be powered by Google’s upcoming Tensor G5 chipset, manufactured by TSMC. The device is also anticipated to come with 16GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. This configuration should provide ample space for apps and media, ensuring a smooth user experience.
One notable change is the repositioning of the SIM card slot to the top edge of the device, aligning with changes observed in other models of the Pixel 10 series. Additionally, the renders show two cutouts on the left edge, mirroring the power button and volume rocker, which could potentially serve as antenna placements or contribute to design symmetry.
Google is expected to debut the Pixel 10 Pro Fold alongside the rest of the Pixel 10 lineup at a Made by Google event in August. This suggests that the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold will launch together, following the same strategy as the Pixel 9 series. Interestingly, some reports indicate that Google may price the Pixel 10 Pro Fold lower than its predecessor. This move could make Google’s premium foldable more attractive to buyers seeking high-end performance at a better value.
While the lack of significant design changes might be seen as a cautious and safe approach, it could indicate that Google has prioritized internal hardware improvements and software enhancements to refine the user experience. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold set a high standard in the foldable segment, and it will be intriguing to see how the Pixel 10 Pro Fold builds upon that foundation.
