Vivo has officially confirmed the launch of its highly anticipated X200 Ultra smartphone in China on April 21, 2025. The launch date was confirmed by vivo on its official Weibo profile. This flagship device is expected to be a game-changer in the smartphone photography segment, thanks to its impressive Zeiss camera setup.
Camera System
The Vivo X200 Ultra is set to feature a triple-camera system on the rear, with a massive camera bump housing a 200MP periscope telephoto lens from the Samsung HP9 sensor, offering an 85mm focal length. This setup will also include two 50MP 1/1.28″ LYT818 sensors, one for the standard camera and one for the 35mm camera. The camera system will support four portrait focal lengths—35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm—providing DSLR-like background blur effects and natural depth perception. Additionally, the device will feature a 50MP front camera, an upgrade from the 32MP camera in its predecessor.
Design and Aesthetics
The X200 Ultra will be available in a sleek white finish with vertical stripes and a red variant with a smooth, leather-like finish. The large, raised camera bump extends prominently from the chassis, giving the phone a substantial look. The device is expected to have a splicing textured finish and a dedicated camera button on the right side, making it easier to take landscape photos.
Display and Performance
The Vivo X200 Ultra is anticipated to feature a 6.82-inch quad-curved BOE LTPO display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. The phone will also house a 6,000mAh battery, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
Additional Features
The X200 Ultra will meet IP68 and IP69 dust and water-resistant ratings, ensuring durability. It will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for enhanced security. The device is expected to support China’s Beidou-3 short message service on top-tier configurations.
The Vivo X200 Ultra promises to be a standout device in the smartphone market, particularly for photography enthusiasts.
