Royal Enfield is set to introduce its first-ever 750cc motorcycle, the Continental GT-R, marking a significant milestone for the brand. This new model is expected to debut before the end of the current financial year, which means it could hit the market as early as end of 2025 or March 2026.
Engine and Performance
The Continental GT-R will be powered by a new 750cc parallel-twin engine, codenamed ‘R’. This engine is an evolution of the existing 648cc twin-cylinder unit, offering increased power and torque. While the exact specifications are not yet confirmed, it is expected to produce around 50-55 bhp and 60-65 Nm of torque, a noticeable upgrade from the current 650cc engine’s 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm. This enhanced performance will make the GT-R faster and more capable, especially for highway riding and long-distance touring.
Design and Features
The Continental GT-R is expected to feature a fully faired design, drawing inspiration from classic café racers. It will have a retro-inspired round headlight, a semi-fairing with a windshield, and alloy wheels compatible with tubeless tyres. The bike is also likely to include updated electronics, such as a TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and navigation capabilities. Additionally, the GT-R is expected to come with twin front disc brakes to handle its increased performance.
Positioning and Future Plans
The Continental GT-R will be positioned above the current 650cc lineup, which starts at Rs 3.03 lakh for the Interceptor 650 and goes up to Rs 3.99 lakh for the Super Meteor 650. Given the upgrades in performance and features, the GT-R is likely to be priced higher, potentially crossing the Rs 4 lakh mark. This new 750cc platform is expected to form the basis for other models in the future, including a roadster, adventure tourer, and cruiser.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT-R 750cc represents a new chapter for the brand, offering a more powerful and refined riding experience. With its expected debut before April 2026, enthusiasts and prospective buyers can look forward to a blend of classic style and modern performance.
