Mahindra XEV 9S jumps into India’s electric shift – a seven-seat SUV sitting on the company’s INGLO skateboard setup. Not tweaked from old petrol versions, this one started life electric, meant to open up room inside while boosting ease and power. With no floor humps, second-row benches slide around, making the interior feel wide, almost hotel-style. Because weight sits low, handling stays calm, so larger households get steady rides without fuss.
Design and Exterior Highlights
Spy photos show a totally fresh front end, different from the XUV700. Instead of a grille, the XEV 9S features a closed panel, along with a stretched LED strip running across the width and sharp triangle-shaped headlights borrowed from the XEV 9e. While the overall shape feels similar, it’s been tweaked slightly – think slicker wheels, hidden door handles, plus shiny black trim adding a posh vibe.
At the back, you’ll find LED tail lights linked together, a sharply shaped bumper that stands out, while special paint shades add boldness on the road – staying loyal to Mahindra’s idea that larger makes more impact.
Premium Cabin and Advanced Tech
Inside, Mahindra fits the XEV 9S with its classiest cabin so far. Taking cues from the XEV 9e, it packs three 12.3-inch screens – one for digital gauges, another as the main control hub, alongside a third display meant for front passenger fun. A backlit two-arm steering wheel gives things a space-age vibe. Though there’s no word yet on an opening panoramic roof, buyers can count on getting glass overhead.
With room for seven, it brings comfort to everyone onboard – one seat less could come down the line.
Features and Safety
The XEV 9S packs plenty of tech – front seats with power adjustment and airflow, several spots to charge devices without cables, separate climate settings for driver and passenger (maybe even a third zone), lighting that shifts colors, along with a 16-speaker Harman/Kardon setup for rich sound. On top of that, a display projected on the windshield and access without keys makes daily use way easier.
Safety’s getting serious attention – 7 airbags, ESC, TPMS, ABS paired with EBD, a full-view camera, along with Level 2 ADAS step in to deliver solid protection.
Performance and Range
Mahindra hasn’t put out official specs so far, yet the XEV 9S is thought to use similar drivetrains as the XEV 9e. It might come with either a 59 kWh or a 79 kWh battery pack, pushing power up to 286 PS alongside 380 Nm of torque. If we go by the XEV 9e’s performance, range could land anywhere from 540 km up to 650 km, depending on the model. Most likely, the SUV will launch with rear-wheel drive; an all-wheel-drive option may show up down the line.
Expected Price and Launch Details
The big first look at the Mahindra XEV 9S is set for the ‘Scream Electric’ show in Bengaluru come November 27, 2025; pricing might hover near ₹21 lakh (ex-showroom). This model will go up against the Tata Harrier EV, along with the BYD Atto 3 – also stepping into the same ring as Mahindra’s XEV 9e.
The Mahindra XEV 9S ain’t merely an electric SUV – it screams progress in Indian EV design, packing roomy interiors, strong performance, also upscale electric vibes tailored for folks aiming high while cruising even higher.
