The next-generation Jeep Compass has been spotted testing ahead of its global debut, which is scheduled for April 2025. The new model is set to introduce a range of updates and improvements, making it a more formidable contender in the SUV segment.
Design and Aesthetics
The new Jeep Compass features a more rugged and boxy design, inspired by its larger siblings like the Grand Cherokee. Key design elements include:
- A refreshed seven-slot grille with potential illumination.
- Rectangular headlamps and sharp LED DRLs.
- Squared-off wheel arches and a flatter bonnet.
- A pronounced shoulder line and a floating roof effect with blacked-out C pillars.
Platform and Powertrain
The third-generation Jeep Compass will be built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, which supports a variety of powertrains:
- Electric (EV): Expected to offer dual-motor AWD setup with power outputs ranging from 215 to 382 horsepower.
- Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): Likely to feature a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine coupled with an electric motor.
- Internal Combustion Engine (ICE): The turbocharged 2.0-litre Hurricane4 I4 engine will continue to be available.
Interior and Features
The interior of the new Compass is expected to receive significant upgrades:
- A refreshed dashboard and central console.
- A larger touchscreen infotainment system with improved user interface.
- Advanced tech features including Level 2 ADAS suite with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane assist.
- Ventilated front seats, powered driver and co-driver seats, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
Global Launch and Market Availability
The new-gen Jeep Compass is set to debut in Europe in April 2025, followed by South America mid-year and North America by the end of the year. Unfortunately, Jeep has no plans to launch the third-generation Compass in India. Instead, Jeep India will continue to sell the second-generation model with some updates.
The next-generation Jeep Compass promises to be a significant step forward with its bold design, advanced tech features, and versatile powertrain options. While it won’t be available in India, the updates to the second-generation model should still make it an attractive option for local buyers.
