Triumph is gearing up to expand its 400cc lineup with the introduction of the Scrambler 400 XC and Scrambler T4. Both models have been spotted testing, revealing key features and design elements ahead of their official launch.

Scrambler 400 XC: A Step Up in Off-Road Capability

The Scrambler 400 XC has been spotted with several notable updates. The most significant change is the introduction of tubeless cross-spoke wheels, which should enhance the bike’s off-road capabilities and make it easier to repair punctures. The XC variant also features a metal engine guard, high-set mudguard, and a body-colored visor, all of which are expected to be standard. The bike has been spied in a bold yellow paint scheme with racy speed-block graphics, indicating a fresh and sporty look.

Performance and Hardware

The Scrambler 400 XC will be powered by the same 398cc, liquid-cooled engine found in the standard Scrambler 400X, producing 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. The motorcycle is expected to feature a dedicated off-road mode with switchable ABS and traction control, enhancing its versatility.

Pricing and Positioning

Given the additional features and off-road capabilities, the Scrambler 400 XC is expected to be priced around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 higher than the standard Scrambler 400X, which currently retails at Rs 2.66 lakh (ex-showroom).

Scrambler T4: A More Accessible Option

The Scrambler T4 is positioned as a more affordable variant, similar to the Speed T4. It features cost-cutting measures such as different alloy wheels and MRF tyres. The bike also has a single-piece seat instead of the split seats found on the Scrambler 400X, and it lacks knuckle guards. The USD fork is blacked out instead of the gold-colored units on the Scrambler 400X, and the handlebar, pillion grab rail, and rear fender are painted black.

Pricing and Performance

The Scrambler T4 is expected to retain the same 398cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which produces 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety.

The Scrambler T4 is expected to be priced around Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 less than the Scrambler 400X, making it a more accessible option for riders.

The upcoming Triumph Scrambler 400 XC and Scrambler T4 are set to offer different propositions within the 400cc segment. The Scrambler 400 XC brings enhanced off-road capabilities and a sporty aesthetic, while the Scrambler T4 aims to provide a more affordable entry point into the Scrambler lineup. Both models are expected to launch in India soon, with production-ready test mules already spotted.
