Mahindra has recently announced that the waiting period for its latest electric SUVs, the XEV 9e and BE 6, has extended to up to six months in select regions. This extension is due to the overwhelming demand for these models since their deliveries commenced on March 20, 2025. The company has already delivered over 3,000 units of these electric SUVs, marking a significant milestone in Mahindra’s electric mobility journey.
Demand and Customer Preferences
The XEV 9e has garnered more interest, accounting for 59% of the total bookings, while the BE 6 holds 41%. Interestingly, the majority of customers are opting for the top-tier Pack Three variant, which comes with a larger 79 kWh battery pack, offering more range and flexibility. This preference indicates that customers are willing to pay a premium for advanced features and extended range.
Production and Delivery Scale-Up
To address the extended waiting period, Mahindra is ramping up its production and delivery capabilities across the country. The company is working on scaling up deliveries nationwide to reduce wait times and ensure a seamless ownership experience for both current and future customers. The exact waiting period may vary depending on the region, variant, color, and dealership stock.
